Let's kickstart the new year with a breath of fresh air, unveiling a symbiotic transformation of the title track from my album "Fresh Air," originally launched in May 2022 on Bombay Records. I intentionally chose to release it on MLK day, because this year it actually falls on his birthday. Also recognizing the world's need for peace during these challenging times.

First in line is my jazzy reinterpretation of the original song my band Shazzam opened every set with, featuring the exceptional talents of local musicians Max Zipursky on the piano and Myles Bigelow on percussion. Making this more like a MAW release with a nod to jazz guitarist Pat Metheny.

Next up Rennie Foster, the RF label boss, an old-school B'boy from Victoria BC, and one of my longstanding friends in Vancouver, adds a nostalgic and unique touch. Rennie Foster's mix is reminiscent of NYC club house, giving it a vibe that harks back to the iconic sounds of the city that never sleeps.

Following this, brace yourself for a scintillating remix by the promising "up-and-comer," Will Sea. In my opinion, he truly hit it out of the park! I've developed a fondness for the progressive feel of this remix—it's a departure from my usual style, but sometimes, you don't realize what you want until you hear it. Here's to a year of fresh sounds and new directions!
